Our Story – How NFC Kids Was Created

It was a winter evening at a Christmas market in Wrocław.
Crowds of people, the smell of gingerbread, colorful lights everywhere.

I was standing with my daughter by a toy stall, wanting to buy her a small gift.
She was right next to me.

I paid with my card, put my wallet away, turned around…
and she was gone.

In that instant, my heart jumped into my throat.
A crowd. Thousands of people. Noise everywhere.
And only emptiness where she had been just seconds before.

I started calling her name, running between the stalls.
Soon, the whole family was searching.

Those few minutes felt like an eternity.

When I finally saw her, she was standing several meters away.
She was crying. She was terrified.
She didn’t know what to do, who to approach, or how to find us.

That moment — the look in her eyes — stays with a parent forever.

That’s when I knew I wanted to give her something that would help her feel safe.
Not another tracking device.
Not technology designed for adults.

But something simple — something that would give her calm, confidence, and control.
A way to ask for help on her own.

That’s how the idea for NFC Kids was born — a NFC Tag that combines safety with the form of children’s jewelry.
